ArcGIS Web Adaptor (arcgis) by Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc. (Esri) is a lightweight web application that integrates ArcGIS Server with your organization’s existing web server and security framework. Deployed on IIS or a Java application server (such as Apache Tomcat), it forwards incoming requests to your ArcGIS Server site, provides a single, friendly URL (for example, https://yourdomain/arcgis), and helps place ArcGIS Enterprise securely behind your firewall or in a DMZ.
